NZPF By-Law - Effective 19 January 2019

RESTRICTION on MEMBERSHIP of an AFFILIATED ORGANISATION

  1. Members of an Affiliated Organisation must be individual members of the NZPF; 

  2. Members of a powerlifting association not approved by the NZPF shall not be permitted to be members of an Affiliated Organisation 

  3. The NEC may, in its absolute discretion, approve or exempt any Affiliated Organisation from this restriction, with such conditions that it deems appropriate

NZPF By-Law - Effective 1 September 2012

Any NZPF member intending to compete, or participate in an official capacity, in any powerlifting related event (whether a competition or otherwise) that is not sanctioned by the NZPF or the IPF or an IPF affiliated Federation must first obtain the written consent of the NEC, which shall have the absolute discretion whether or not to grant the consent.

If a member competes or participates in such a non sanctioned event without the NEC's consent his/her membership of the NZPF, and/or any affiliated association, shall face disciplinary action which could include suspension or termination of NZPF and affiliated membership from the date of such competing or participation.

Where the event is sanctioned by NZPF or the IPF or an IPF affiliated Federation that is overseas event an NZPF member needs to complete and send an international application and code of conduct form to the NZPF secretary. Recommend these forms are sent well in advance of the intended event to allow time for approval by the members of the NEC.

NZPF - Definition of Novice

A novice lifter is one who has not competed in an NZPF sanctioned event before. Once they have competed once as a novice they must register with their local association and the NZPF to participate in any further NZPF sanctioned events.

Drug Testing

Drug Testing may be conducted at ANY NZPF sanctioned contests as well as out of competition. This includes all contests held by Provincial Associations for financial lifters. 

Please note that any positive tests will result in a ban, determined by Drug Free NZ, depending on the severity and ranging from 3 months, two years or possibly life. Also should any competitor test positive in an international competition that person is liable for a fine from the IPF (currently it is approximately 1000 euro).

Cannabis is a banned substance, even if used recreationally therefore if you are competing we recommend you avoid using it.
